Venril Sathir, chief of the Kunzar and a powerful necromancer, united the five Iksar tribes into the Sebilisian Empire to conquer most of Kunark. In an attempt to cheat death, Venril Sathir had his essence imbued into a jewel. His heir, Rile Sathir, betrayed Venril Sathir, discarding the jewel and seizing his power. It was the mighty Trakanon who took it upon himself to bring war to the hubristic Iksar Empire. The leader of the Ring of Scale, Jaled'Dar, cast down Ganak Sathir, presumably banishing him to another plane of existence. Venril Sathir has been resurrected and now focuses on regaining the Iksar throne from his stronghold in Karnor's Castle. He has raised an army of undead and lycanthropes, and has allied with a faction of dark elves in The Overthere.
