Maestro of Rancor
Level 52 - 53 · Vampire · Bard · Plane of Hate
The Maestro of Rancor is the guardian of Innoruuk (God), and resides within the Organ Hall in the Plane of Hate. The many items he carries tend towards those usable by bards. After Hate revamp upon death he will spawn Hand of the Maestro (Mob) and after that dies it will spawn a very unpleasant hand. === Lore === Once a mortal named Vedel Revnold, the Maestro of Rancor is now a twisted, evil being residing on the Plane of Hate, replaying his legendary haunting symphony for all eternity, echoing mournful chords across much of the plane. His hatred for all around him (even for Innoruuk himself), is secondary only to his hatred for himself. The Maestro has a pallor of embalmed blue, with fangs, claws, and soulless eyes — he bears only a superficial resemblance to his former self. Still, his dress is that of a wealthy nobleman, with bright pants and a high-collared, flowing cape. If anyone approaches the Maestro, he attacks immediately and mercilessly; he has no desire for conversation, for he wants only to play his music and to lament in despair until the end of time for his horrible crime. Upon being slain, Maestro of Rancor says 'The dance is over, for now.' According to the Brian Canary interview with aLovingRobot, Maestro is the original and only model of Mayong Mistmoore that was ever used. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sRLeVEuuLXM&t=1s&ab_channel=aLovingRobot === Strategy === His AoE lifetap (250 hp) can make fighting him an exercise in futility. He hits for upwards of 200 damage a hit. He is extremely resistant to cold (Lure of Frost does not land) and magic, but Lure of Flame is effective. Don't count on any regular nukes (non-lures) landing. He is not a Belly Caster. Maestro of Rancor will see through a rogue's Hide skill. Summons. Does not DT.
